Concept:

For the 125th anniversary of MSU, the school of art collaborated on promotional takeaways for incoming freshmen. Sculpture modified an old vending machine to look like a retro MSU arcade game then one class from each of the other branches of the school were tasked to create small ‘gifts’ to go inside of it. The concept is: when a potential new student comes and checks out the school they’d get a coin for the machine and would be able to choose which gift they wanted. The graphic designers were tasked to create a design based around an aspect of the college we would have wanted to know about as incoming freshmen ourselves. I chose Shakespeare in the Park, since it’s a big part of the Montana art community and growing up I always admired how they provided quality theater freely to the public. We were tasked to create two takeaways: a hang card used to mount a USB drive that contained video or audio files of the performance branches of the school of art, including recordings of Shakespeare in the Park, and a sticker pack to properly showcase our design talents.
